Digital Node is to join engineering, design and advisory company Aurecon, in a move that will further strengthen Aurecon’s digital transformation capabilities.

As a BIM and digital engineering consultancy and training provider for the construction industry, Digital Node has been supporting the global built environment in its digital transformation since it was founded in 2014. Digital Node works with clients on major projects in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the UK and North America, and it is this experience and expertise that we will bring to Aurecon in further strengthening its client service offerings.

The acquisition is the latest in Aurecon’s journey towards the digitisation of its engineering and advisory practices, with a focus on BIM and digital engineering strategy and delivery.

Aurecon Chief Digital Officer, Dr Andrew Maher said: “Data and information management are a crucial part of the digitally enabled services our clients are demanding, and Digital Node is at the forefront of best practice digital standards. Together, we will be able to help organisations and governments across the world develop and deliver their digital enablement strategies by transforming infrastructure, impacting the design and performance of asset portfolios.”

Aurecon is invested in building the workforce of the future and this is the perfect time for Digital Node to become part of the business. Digital Node Director and Founder, Rebecca De Cicco, added: “It is now universally recognised that BIM and the process of digital information management are fundamental to the performance of construction and infrastructure projects. Embedding digital ways of working and driving digital literacy across the workforce of the future is essential. Aurecon shares Digital Node’s passion for universal adoption and implementation of BIM and this makes them the perfect fit for us to align with.”

Recently named Australasia’s Most Innovative Company in the prestigious AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies list for 2020, Dr Maher added: “With innovation and digital at the heart of Aurecon’s strategy, Digital Node and Rebecca De Cicco will play an important part in our future success.”

With a legacy dating back to 1934, Aurecon services clients in a wide range of sectors across international markets. Drawing on its deep knowledge and experience in engineering, technical capability and design expertise, Aurecon strives to collaborate with its clients to re-imagine, shape and design a better future – a philosophy that has also driven Digital Node to the level of success it has achieved today. The combination of Digital Node and Aurecon makes for an excellent match and one which will benefit existing and future clients from both businesses.
