Digital Node has fought off competition to be successfully selected as the new training provider for Wates on BIM and digital construction and have been working with Wates construction for the last year developing and delivering BIM Training.
This contract will see Digital Node’s team of industry training experts deliver BIM training across all divisions of Wates in the UK, together with members of the Wates supply chain.
Rebecca De Cicco, Founder and Managing Director for Digital Node said: “We’ve known Wates for some time and supported its commitment to BIM adoption throughout the business. To be selected as the provider for all of its digital construction training is exceptionally exciting for us.
“Since February this year, we have been developing a strategic training plan and, after assessing current capabilities, we have written bespoke training content to match Wates’ operational, functional and technical business needs.”
This developed content is divided into three core courses, incorporating face-to-face in-house training and online e-learning modules for the teams to take in at their own pace.
A training delivery programme is underway – supported by Digital Node’s training partners, Cadventure and Knowledge Smart – with the programme being implemented across the business from September 2019.
This training comes at a time when Wates is making commitments to be an inclusive and connected employer; providing new training opportunities is just a part of an on-going programme of business growth.
Rebecca continued: “In July of this year, Wates announced it wanted its workforce to be more reflective of society and modern day values, and as part of this has committed to achieving a 40% women workforce by 2025. This target will be applied across all levels of the business which will mean major changes in the board room and management team.”
Lucy Abbot, Group BIM Director at Wates added: “At Wates, we firmly believe that continual training is the key to opening up opportunities for everyone, providing our teams with the skills they need to succeed. Digital Node has provided us with a flexible up-skill training programme which is enabling us to harness the talents of our people.”
