Fast access to in-depth knowledge on BIM and Digital Engineering

Online Courses

Online learning has revolutionised education, providing new opportunities for the way we learn, enabling you to enhance your knowledge and skills in BIM, digital construction and digital engineering.

ISO 19650 and GeT Everything Library

We have partnered with Global eTraining in authoring a series of BIM and digital engineering courses, with an emphasis on the principles of BIM Management in line with ISO 19650 series.

The libraries we have created are titled Principles of BIM Management and ISO 19560. Both course libraries form part of GeT Everything Library which also includes a series of technical online BIM training courses.

BIM Fundamental Concepts

BIM Fundamental Concepts is a 1-hour course that will provide you with the key information required to support all stages of a Building Information Modelling (BIM) project—from design through to operation.

BIM Acronyms

BIM—as a concept and process—has evolved, and the way in which AEC professionals utilise terminology is an important part of ensuring consistency amongst all projects. This course will review the plethora of BIM acronyms that exist so you can memorize them and reference them as needed.

BIM & Collaborative Working

The BIM and Collaborative Working course will address how the principles of collaborative working can support BIM and its related processes. Collaborative working is a critical part of BIM and can contribute to positive outcomes for either an owner or a project team by allowing transparent and open communication at all times.

BIM and Building Contracts

This course will discuss how the commercial nature of a project is ultimately affected when BIM becomes part of the process. Commercial risks and processes should be understood by all parties working on a project to provide an environment free of risk and ambiguity.

BIM and ISO 19650 Summarized

The BIM and ISO 19650 Summarized course is a summary of the application of ISO 19650, the global BIM standard to support in their delivery of BIM.

BIM Appointing Party Documentation

The BIM Appointing Party Documentation course is to support a client or owner (known as an Appointing party) in determining their requirements on a BIM project. The basic documentation required is listed in this curriculum as well as the requirements by both the appointing and appointed parties on a project.

BIM Dimensions and Documents

BIM Dimensions and Documents addresses how BIM documents should be managed and used across a project, as well as the BIM dimensions, which relate to all project BIM uses. It is imperative that BIM dimensions are understood so that BIM uses can be clearly documented. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to describe the BIM dimensions and how they relate to all project processes, as well as how to document and manage them over a project lifecycle.

BIM During An Asset Lifecycle

The BIM During An Asset Lifecycle course will describe the importance of BIM during the asset lifecycle phase of a built asset. BIM as a process can provide great benefits during the design and construction stages, but the main benefits can be seen well into the operation of a facility. It is, therefore, crucial to ensure that the fundamental nature of how an asset is managed and functions during its life be addressed by the owner.

BIM Functions and Roles

The BIM Functions and Roles course will address how roles and responsibilities, which align with BIM, can be procured and appointed on a BIM project. Roles that have been developed in the industry are a direct result of the development of local and international standards all supporting BIM delivery. The standards supporting BIM globally have provided recommended roles which are documented and are to be utilized for a BIM project.

BIM Terminology

The BIM Terminology course will discuss the terminology required to understand BIM in a global context, with specific reference to the terms used in the UK and U.S. Terminology is an important part of a successful BIM project as all participants must understand the basic terms and use of these terms to work effectively and intelligently.

Understanding ISO 19650
1 and 2 Global BIM Standard

The Understanding ISO 19650 -1 and 2 Global BIM Standard course will cover the basics of ISO 19650 as a standard which is the global document supporting consistent delivery of information on a construction project. ISO 19650 was released to support the consolidation of information management processes, roles and requirements and is recommended for use in regions of the world where there are little to no standards in BIM. This supports global BIM delivery.
