Delivering extraordinary lasting results

About us

Digital Node is a digital construction consultancy and training provider for the construction industry, supporting the built environment in its digital transformation.

Digital Node Founder

As a keen advocate for the digital space and how it influences the Built Environment, our founder, Rebecca De Cicco, had an idea to create a construction industry consultancy to respond to the uptake and development of technology and process.

The origins of Digital Node stem as far back as when Rebecca was an Architectural student, fascinated by the development of digital and how it shapes design and construction process. Rebecca founded Conceptual Node in Australia where she believed there could be synergies with how an idea, the use of technology and process – and then using diagrammatic content – can evolve into a built form; this was the beginning of what Digital Node is now.

Today, Digital Node is at the forefront of the digital evolution and is leading the way in how technology is impacting the construction industry.

New and advanced technologies

At Digital Node we are passionate about new and advanced technologies, and how this constant evolution impacts the built environment. In the past few years, technology has irreversibly changed the built environment. Our role is to educate and inform so that our clients design and build more effectively and efficiently, through collaboration and integration.

In March 2021, Digital Node joined Aurecon, bringing market leading digital transformation and BIM capability to its people, clients and projects. Aurecon is an engineering, design and advisory company that brings ideas to life to design a better future.

Our team of dedicated construction specialists have a shared passion for using digital transformation techniques to bring about real change for construction across the globe.

Unique consultation techniques

We can support you in providing a series of strategic and technical solutions to ensure increased productivity, enhance you team’s technical skills and improve efficiency in the execution of your business operations.

We work with Central Government and Local Authorities, Contractors, Designers and Developers across the globe. Through our unique consultation techniques, we identify areas where a digital approach will ensure our clients project and process needs are meet, achieving real measurable results.

Digital construction specialists

Since Digital Node first began in 2014, we have been at the forefront of ambitious change, challenging design and engineering principles. Working with industry giants as well as start-ups, providing our expertise and guidance on complex projects for construction, utilities, infrastructure, leisure, education and so much more. Each day we continue to grow and share our insights with the world.

We’re open, honest and adore sharing our ideas. Our team of digital construction specialists work across every aspect of today’s digital built environment to shape a better future.

What is BIM?

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is defined as the use of a shared digital representation of a built asset to facilitate the design, construction and operation processes to form a reliable basis for decisions. BIM enables the development of accurate and reliable information across a project lifecycle to inform better decision making. BIM enables the reduction of risk, reduction of cost and improved efficiency.

We know BIM: we know what is needed for adoption and integration into organisational strategies and project delivery, and we can help you know it too.

Understanding Digital Engineering

Digital Engineering (DE) is a term used to define the use of digital processes and standards to consolidate the approach toward intelligent information management in relation to infrastructure assets.

Although BIM has been used throughout the world in a similar way, we generally refer to BIM as a subset of DE, where elements such as Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), Building Information Modelling (BIM), Geographical Information systems (GIS), Common Data Environment (CDE) and Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) come together to create, capture, integrate design and construction data inform the asset data through digital skill sets.

Let us help you understand DE and what it can mean to the future success of your business.
