It’s no surprise that here at Digital Node we support a global digital agenda for the built environment, which is why when buildingSMART – the international home of openBIM – asked us to help them create a new global BIM training program we simply couldn’t refuse.
The new buildingSMART Professional Certification Program has been written by a team of international advisors, including Digital Node Director, Rebecca De Cicco, and is intended to not only unify BIM implementation, but also to set clear guidelines for common language, protocols and standards.
There had been an acknowledgement from buildingSMART International of inconsistencies in the approach to BIM implementation across their Chapters, which is why this new Program was designed to ensure consistency and standardisation of BIM processes worldwide.
The buildingSMART Professional Certification Program enables learning organisations to educate and certify individuals according to a recognised global learning framework.
The Program is a proof of competence for professionals working with BIM, and buildingSMART qualified and certified professionals can then demonstrate their knowledge is consistent with international standards and best practices.
With the launch of the Program, buildingSMART provides a very much needed global benchmark for openBIM competency.
buildingSMART is working with each of its Chapters across the globe to deliver the new Program. To find out more about your national (or local) training provider, visit the Program website.
